You are looking for a groomer that comes to you, and you come across the Paws Gone Pretty page. What should you expect when requesting your premium grooming appointment? It's pretty straightforward.

I come in and see where we are setting up, whether it's in the bathroom, the kitchen, or your spacious dining or living room. My husband, Shiloh, helps bring the rest of our equipment in and starts setting up. While he is doing that, I will chat with you about the goal of our appointment and ask about shampoos if you did not choose any upgrades. Then, I get to work.

Here is exactly what is happening during your appointment:

Step 1: The Introduction and Body Assessment Once the intros are done and we take your pet, the first thing we do is a quick body assessment. We look for anything hidden that may need to be seen by a vet, such as skin issues or a sore in the early stages. During this time, we also trim or grind the nails and shave the hair on the paw pads if needed.

Step 2: The Prep Work and Spa Bath After the prep work, I will take your pet to the bath, which could be a kitchen sink, utility sink, or bathtub. (On extremely rare occasions, we do bathe outside using a hose, but only if it's hot out or the hose has a warm water option.) While I am bathing them, I am also cleaning their ears and looking for any signs that they need to be monitored or seen by a vet. In the background, Shiloh cleans up the prep mess and gets things ready for drying. I always give your pet encouragement and gently talk to them during their bath.

Step 3: Two-Person Gentle Handling on the Table When your pet is back on the table, they are met again with two-person, gentle handling. Shiloh helps steady your pet and offers encouragement while I focus on my precision clipper and scissor work. We take breaks when needed, working as a team to make sure they are feeling their absolute best on the table, no matter how nervous they might be.

Step 4: A Calm, Confident Energy I bring a calm, confident energy to each grooming appointment, which helps the pet find their own confidence and relax just a little bit more on the table. It also helps tremendously that they get to stay in the comfort of their own home rather than a noisy salon!

The Wrap-Up and Clean-Up At the end of the service, I will let you know your pet is finished, and once you give the okay, we put them on the ground. You and I will go over re-booking and how you choose to pay: cash, card, or Venmo. In the background, Shiloh cleans up the hair and loads our equipment back into the car. When everything is said and done, the area we used will be just as clean as we left it—if not cleaner. And your pet goes right back to their normal routine, just as happy as if we were never there.
